YouTube:
Please understand that this weblink right here? www.youtube.com/results?search_query=epilepsy ?contains ALL of the listed results that came up using the word ?epilepsy? by itself in the search box for videos. At the moment of when I posted this, there were ?video results?.of about 2,700?. Throughout the future that number of video results may increase or decrease. Some videos might be repeats. Consider what I?m about to say as a warning or precaution. I can guarantee that a good number of those videos may very well try to trigger someone to have a seizure, just as several of the videos are people being disrespectful by insulting or making fun of those of us who have epilepsy or experience seizures. But, on the good side, there are several videos that seem rather helpful, some of which are about different types of seizures. There is one I know of that is a ?Series of Videos about Epilepsy?, which I will vote on as being wonderful videos. All 6 of those videos were once on the website of ?The Center for Epilepsy and Seizure Education in British Columbia?, but were apparently removed from their site. Not much later, I was able to locate those same videos through YouTube.com, one video where all 6 videos are played one right after the other, and then 6 separate videos where each one of those 6 videos are played by themselves. Hopefully, those videos will remain on YouTube. All 6 of those videos combined in to one are currently at www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ws-USSsSPH0 Uhh, I need to add an update to this because I just found out about it. It appears that all of those videos are back on the site for The Center for Epilepsy and Seizure Education in British Columbia, via www.epilepsy.cc

Everyone, this next link is to a video on YouTube, which appears to have been added on January 03, 2008. It is a 1 hour and 25 minutes long video titled, ?Epilepsy?. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mM7rrjKITg0&feature=related

Hello everyone. I just came across a very recently uploaded video on YouTube, which is about a little girl, probably less than two years old, whose experiencing a tonic clonic seizure (old name: grand mal seizure). Most likely, the lady who's holding this little girl is probably her mother, and the guy who's recording this situation, is most likely the girl's father. Anyway, they are going through the recommended procedures in providing first aid for this little girl. The steps I noticed are: keeping her away from anything that could hurt her during the seizure; using a video camera with sound in order to record the seizure, and at some point making sure that her entire body is in the video; timing the length of the seizure; turning the girl on her side in order to prevent her from swallowing any fluid that might build up inside her mouth during the seizure; not sticking anything in her mouth; not holding her down; remaining calm throughout the entire process; holding up the little girl's head; and so on. Overall, I see that these two adults did a wonderful job at providing first aid for this little girl.

Recording videos like this can be very helpful because it can provide the patient's doctor useful information for a variety of reasons. One of those reasons can be helping the patient's doctor to make a correct diagnosis for what type of seizure(s) the patient is experiencing. Another reason, which just popped up in my mind, is giving the doctor an opportunity to see if anything was done wrong, or was possibly left out, during the time frame of when a person is providing first aid to an individual who's having a seizure.

I have no idea how long this video is going to remain on YouTube, so hopefully those of you who are reading this posting will be able to watch the video. At the moment of me posting this topic thread, the link to the website is at www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8NmeO-EMfI
